Beans 150g simply need to be washed, then top and tailed. They can be eaten raw, steamed or boiled. Don’t overcook them. They should remain slightly crisp to retain their nutrients. Beans are a great addition to salads, stir-fries, soups and casseroles. This food is low in sodium, and very low in saturated fat and cholesterol. It is also a good source of Protein, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Copper. Beans are a very good source of Dietary Fibre, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate and Manganese.
Use beans whole as crudités for dip. Slice to use in salads and stir-fries.
