Broccolini Bunch is a hybrid vegetable first created in 1993. It has small florets, long stalks, and a few small leaves — all of which are edible. Compared to the bitter flavour of regular broccoli, Broccolini is more mild, with a sweet, earthy taste.
It’s a good source of vitamin A, folate, iron and potassium. It’s an excellent source of vitamin C.
Did you know?
Broccolini is an Australian horticultural development of a cross between broccoli and Japanese kale. The taste is stronger than normal broccoli.
How to prepare
Rinse, trim the stalks for cooking. Try steaming or sauteeing your broccolini. You may like to try roasting it in the oven with some garlic and olive oil just for something a little different. Broccolini also makes a great salad ingredient.
