Fenugreek 80g is a member of the legume family and looks like a miniature bean pod when growing. The leaves and seeds are used in cooking, imparting a distinctive sharpness to curries and vegetable dishes. Fenugreek seeds are an important ingredient in Panch Phora, the Indian seed blend that is fried in oil at the commencement of making a curry.
As well as being used in cooking, Fenugreek seeds are used to make medicine, or to hide the taste of other medicine. The seeds smell and taste somewhat like maple syrup. Fenugreek is taken by mouth to assist with digestive problems such as loss of appetite, upset stomach, constipation, inflammation of the stomach (gastritis).
