Leeks have a mild onion flavour, and the edible part of the plant is the stalk. Try roasting them or add them to your soups and casseroles. Leeks are a great addition to your green salads or just use them as a garnish.

How to prepare
Trim the root end and trim off the green tops, remove outer coarse or damaged leaves, slice and rinse thoroughly to remove any dirt.

Nutritional value
A good source of vitamin A and very high in fibre. Leeks also contain B group and C vitamins along with iron, potassium and calcium.
