It goes well with lamb and veal as well as in eggs, custards, and croquettes. Thyme often is paired with tomatoes.

Thyme is an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A, fibre, riboflavin, iron, copper, and manganese. It also contains calcium and doses of vitamin B6, folate, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc.
